KeepHere (“the app”) is an iPhone camera app for taking family photos. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
1. Data handled only on your device
- Photos and videos you take, burst candidates and your selection history
- Face features and small face images of your registered family
- Tomorrow's event names and dates read from your calendar (for the day-before reminder)
These are processed on your iPhone and never sent to the developer's server. Face detection and matching, photo selection and Touch-up (skin brightness adjustment) all happen on the device.
2. Data handled inside your iCloud (optional)
- To carry family registrations across iPhones signed in to the same Apple ID, the app stores them (face features, names and Touch-up settings) in your iCloud private database.
- If you invite family and start sharing, downsized burst frames and their ranking, sample images, family registrations and counts of kept photos are exchanged inside the iCloud share between you and the family you invited.
All of this stays inside Apple's iCloud (CloudKit); the developer cannot read it. You can stop sharing anytime in Settings, which removes the registrations received on the other device.
3. Data sent to the developer's server
- Only when you enter an invite code, the code and a random per-device ID generated by the app (to limit how many devices use a code) are sent to the verification server (redeem.nokosou.app). No photos, faces, events or names are sent.
- Nothing else is sent to the developer's server. The app uses no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and no generative AI.
4. Permissions used
- Camera: to take photos
- Microphone: to record video with sound (only while recording)
- Photos (add only): to save the chosen shot to Photos. Existing photos are never read
- Photos (read): to read the photos you choose when registering family faces
- Calendar: to read tomorrow's event names and dates and notify you the day before. It never edits or sends events
- Notifications: for the day-before reminder and to tell you when family share something
5. Retention and deletion
- After a shot is saved to Photos, the burst candidates are removed from the app automatically after the number of days you set (3 by default). Photos in Photos are never deleted.
- You can delete family registrations anytime in Settings › Family. Deleting the app removes all data on the device. Registrations stored in iCloud can be deleted from iPhone Settings › Apple Account › iCloud.
6. About children
- The app is intended for use by parents and guardians. Registering a child's face is the guardian's decision, and face data never leaves the scope described in sections 1 and 2.
- Touch-up (skin adjustment) is never applied to children.
7. Changes
When this policy changes, the date on this page and in the app will be updated.
